Strawberry Gin Collins with Fresh Herbs
I love modifying classic cocktails with my own twist for gatherings. It is a great way to create something familiar but unique when entertaining. For this Juneteenth virtual collab, I'm sharing my spin on the Gin Collins a refreshing and balanced drink that is sure to pair wonderfully with all the classic black cookout dishes.
Ingredients
1 Strawberry
1 large leaf of Basil & Sage (optional)
.5 ounces of simple syrup
2 ounces gin
1-ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
Club soda, to top
Garnish: 1 Strawberry
Muddle the strawberry and herbs really well with the simple syrup in your glass. Add the rest of your ingredients and ice. Stir gently and top with club soda. Garnish with a strawberry and/or fresh herbs.
For a little dazzle, I added a sugared from Deniseea @chickenandchampagne on Insta. Side note I ordered some of her premixed joints and they were so bomb.
The star of the drink by far was the Ode to Babel Gin. Baby, this gin is de-licious. It’s really balanced, black owned and made here in the USA.
